UPDATE! THE NEW DATE OF THE JOINT COMMISSION MEETING OF MADRID Call for Abstracts: Symposium on National and Regional Atlases from the 21 to the 25th April 2020 in Madrid

Due to the spread of COVID-19 and the inevitable coincidence of several conferences, the dates already proposed for the next meetings could be anticipated or postponed.
Please consult the organizers of each conference directly. In the meantime the Local Organising Committee  of the Madrid Conference on National Atlases
has been searching for new dates since they definitely count on both Commissions (Atlas and Toponymy) taking part in the meeting in Madrid.
As a result, they propose to hold the meeting from Wednesday the 7th to Saturday the 10th of October 2020.

Atlases in Time – National and Regional Issues
On the occasion of 150 year anniversary celebration of the Instituto  Geográfico Nacional (IGN) – the publishing institution of the National Atlas of Spain – the ICA Commission on Atlases and the ICA/IGU Commission on Toponymy together with the IGN organize a symposium on National and Regional Atlases from the 21 to the 25th April 2020 in Madrid. During three sessions questions concerning evolving dissemination concepts and techniques for atlases, recent development and examples of National Atlases as well as related important toponomastic issues will be discussed.
Presentations will be held in a classic 20 min format of 15 min talk and 5 min discussions, and also in a 5 min lightning format, where you can bring in specific challenges (not solved yet) or new ideas. A publication of the contributions as papers or abstracts will be realized.

The abstract should not exceed 500 words and can be submitted as .docx or .pdf-file. It can be submitted through the conference website (here comes a different address as the preliminary website).

The deadline for the abstract is  the 31. January.
